Frequently asked questions

What is Lip Blush?

Lip blush is a type of cosmetic tattooing that involves the use of cosmetic tattoo pigment to enhance the appearance of the lips.

It involves the application of a natural-looking wash of color to the lips to add definition and fullness, or to correct uneven or pale lips.

Lip blush can be used to create the appearance of a natural lip flush or to give the lips a more defined shape.

What's the Lip Blush procedure like?

The procedure involves numbing the lips with a local anesthetic and then using a digital machine to apply the pigment to the lips.

The pigment is applied in a series of sections evenly to mimic the appearance of natural lip color.

The results of lip blush typically last for 1-3 years, depending on factors such as skin type, sun exposure, and skincare routine.

What can I expect after the treatment?

After a lip tattoo procedure, it's normal to experience some swelling and tenderness in the treated area. These side effects should resolve within a few days. It's also common for the lips to appear slightly darker in color immediately after the procedure, as the pigment is still settling into the skin. The color will lighten as the skin heals and the pigment fades slightly.

It's important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your cosmetic tattoo artist to ensure the best possible results. This may include avoiding certain activities, such as swimming or sweating, and applying ointment or balm to the treated area to keep the skin moisturized and to promote healing. You may also be advised to avoid exposing the treated area to the sun or to wear a high SPF sunscreen to prevent fading or unevenness.

Most people are able to return to their normal activities immediately after the procedure, although it's recommended to avoid strenuous activity or exposure to extreme heat or cold for a few days. It's also important to avoid picking or scratching at the treated area to prevent infection and to allow the pigment to settle properly.

It's normal for the treated area to look patchy or uneven for the first few days after the procedure. As the skin begins to heal, the pigment will settle and the color will become more even. The final results of the procedure will become apparent within about a week or two. It's important to keep in mind that touch-up treatments may be needed to achieve the desired results.

Are the artists qualified to carry out treatment?

Yes! Absolutely. Our artist is has a VTCT level 4 in micropigmentation, 5 years of experience within the semi-permanent makeup field and has trained in UK and Asia.

We highly discourage going to an artist without a license. Although microblading is a great treatment to have, it comes with risks of trauma and infection of the skin when not done properly by a professional.

What are the perks of Lip Blush?

Lip blush is designed to give the lips a natural-looking flush of color, rather than a solid block of pigment. This gives the lips a softer, more subtle appearance, as compared to traditional lip tattoos which tend to look more solid and blocky.

The results of lip blush typically last for 1-3 years, depending on factors such as skin type, sun exposure, and skincare routine. This means that you can enjoy the benefits of a lip color boost without the need for regular touch-ups or the maintenance required with traditional lip makeup.

Lip blush can be used to add definition and fullness to the lips, or to correct uneven or pale lips. This can help to enhance the overall appearance of the lips and give them a more youthful and defined look.
