What is polynucleotide treatment made from?
Polynucleotides are essentially fragments of DNA extracted from fish (usually salmon) in a cruelty-free process, and then highly purified.
How does polynucleotide treatment work?
Once injected into the skin, Polynucleotides improve the skin and tissues on a cellular level.
Polynucleotides can change the expression of our own DNA and up-regulate fibroblast cells (these cells contribute to the formation of connective tissue). This boosts collagen and elastin production - both vital for firm youthful skin.
It also has an antioxidant and hydrating effect in addition to the bio-remodelling. This results in plumper and deeply hydrated skin.
What can polynucleotides help treat?
Polynucleotides can be used effectively under the eyes, for the face and neck, jawline and cheekbones, décolletage and body, including on scars and to stimulate hair growth.
What is the downtime for polynucleotide treatment?
With injectable polynucleotide treatments, there may be some minimal downtime, but it is still less than more invasive procedures.
Any discomfort, tenderness, or side effects after injectable polynucleotides tend to be mild. It is common to resume normal activities or return to work the same or next day. Makeup can be applied to cover any temporary redness or marks if needed.
There may be some minor swelling for 2-3 days, so you may wish to avoid big events or weddings immediately after. But it subsides quickly. You won't have bandages or be out of commission for a week like more invasive treatments.
When will I see results from polynucleotide treatment and how long do they last?
You start to see the results soon after the first session. But the second session will really kickstart the remodelling process.
The product continues to work for the first 12 weeks, so it continues to improve with time.
The results last around six months on average before maintenance session is required.
